GINGERBREAD MAN ACTIVITIES~
After our morning meeting, we read the story The Gingerbread Man.  At the end of the story, a little note fell out of the book telling us to look for the Gingerbread Man in the place at school where you can check out a book.  So, immediately we lined up to head to the library in search of the Gingerbread Man!

When we got to the library, Mrs. Mullin said she saw the Gingerbread Man run through the library.  She found a note he left!  It looked just like the one that fell out of our book!
When Mrs. Mullin read us the note, the Gingerbread Man said that we were too slow and that he left to go to a place in the school to sing a tune!  The Music Room!  So, we left again to see if we could find the Gingerbread Man in the music room.

Here we are at the music room and we found another note!
This time the Gingerbread Man tells us to go to the place at school where we eat snack.  So, we head back to our Pre-K classroom!
Some interesting clues outside of our classroom.....

We found another note and it said that we caught him and found him!  And now, we can eat him up from head to feet.  So.......
....look what we ate for snack!  YUM!!!

During Free Choice, children made guesses as to how many of the paper Gingerbread Man "cookies" in the photo below would fit on the cookie sheet.  Be sure to ask your child what his/her guess was and how many "cookies" actually fit on the tray.

Christina builds the butterfly using the hammer, nails, and wooden shapes.

Cooper uses rubberbands on the geoboard.

Theo and Jake playing a game of "Jungle Run" at Games Galore.

Nathan uses Zoobs to make a construction.
Anna also uses the Zoobs to make a construction.
During Free Choice today, children visited the Project Station to draw pictures of items beginning with the /J/ sound.  Be sure to ask your child what he/she drew.
 STAR OF THE WEEK~COOPER
Our new Star of the Week is Cooper!  We learned more about his favorite things including his favorite color--blue; his favorite place to visit--California; and his favorite restaurant--"Steak and Shake".  Cooper also shared his photos--including one of him "driving a car" at LegoLand.  Cooper also shared the license he received and used to drive his car at LegoLand.

 SNOWBALLS~
Today we read the book Snowballs, a great story about using various, random items for decorating a snowman.  This week during Free Choice, children will decorate their own snowman using various random, recycled items.  We will hang the finished snowmen in our classroom.
 ZERO THE HERO~
Today we celebrated our 80th day of school!  Nathan's mom provided us with a great project to celebrate--decorating our own mugs.  Thank you!
