11-29-11

Check out the new display area outside of our classroom.  Each child has his/her own "pad" (space) in which to choose work that he/she would like to display for everyone to see.   Some children started putting up things today on their "pad".

 Dog's Colorful Day~
During Free Choice time today, children chose to retell the story of the story, Dog's Colorful Day, which we read yesterday.  It's especially fun to use the props when retelling the story!

COLOR DAY~
In preparation for our Pre-K Color Day this Friday, December 2nd, we read a story today called, Mary Wore Her Red Dress.  This Friday, we are asking Pre-K children to wear any SOLID COLOR SHIRT  (no stripes, designs, words, etc.).  Dress code should be followed from the waist down.
STAR OF THE WEEK~JAKE
Today we learned more about our friend, Jake!  Some of Jake's favorite things include the color blue; Rice Krispie Treats; and building with Legos.   The special item Jake shared with us was a Lego watch he got for this birthday from his brother and sister.   Thank you for sharing your photos and telling us about your favorite things, Jake!

DOG'S COLORFUL DAY~
Today we read the story, Dog's Colorful Day.  The second time we read the story, the children helped us tell the story using props.  The story and props are now available in the Book Nook for children to retell during Free Choice time.

Today we read the story Elmer--a great story about a colorful, patchwork elephant.  We read the story a second time and the children helped tell the story on the flannel board.  Next week, children can create their own Elmer the Elephant at the Creation Station if they choose to do so.
