HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today we helped Carolyn celebrate her May birthday!  Caroline's mom read a story called, Another Monster At The End Of This Story.  Then, we ate Italian Ice for Caroline's birthday treat!  Happy Birthday, Caroline!

Thank you to everyone for my wonderful treats and beautiful flowers to help me celebrate my upcoming June birthday!

Yesterday, we played Baseball Review!  When a child came up to bat, he/she had to answer a question about something that we had learned this year before he/she was pitched the ball.  The children did great recalling information we have learned throughout the school year!  Way to go, Pre-K "A"!

We have had a wonderful Outdoor Week!  Today, we did 2 fun activities......drinking our lemonade like a butterfly drinks nectar from a flower and an ice cube melting experiment.  Please see the 2 slideshows below this post to view these activities.  We sent home the directions for the ice cube melting experiment in your child's blue folder.  It would be a great activity to do over the long holiday weekend--especially since the weather forecast is HOT!
Enjoy the long holiday weekend!

FUN RIDDLES

Today we did the following riddles in class.  The answer to each riddle is something that you would see or find outside.  If you can't figure out the answer to the riddle, ask your child for some help!

~I am not an elephant, but I have a large trunk.
~I fly in the breeze, but I don't have wings.  I am red, white, and blue.
~This is where you can build a castle in the sand, but there is no ocean to wash it away.
~This is where the monkeys play.
~Here you will find tires, but no cars.
~I am a pool without water.
~Using this net, you will never catch any fish.
~This is where the butterflies go to "get milk".

HAVE FUN!

BUTTERFLIES!~
Spikey and Sarah have emerged as butterflies!  Be sure to ask your child what we put inside of our butterfly garden for them.  We will release the butterflies on Thursday or Friday this week.  Be sure to ask your child what the word release means!

PROBLEM-SOLVING ACTIVITY~
Ask your child about the problem-solving/math activity Mrs. "B" did with them today.  It required some definite math thinking!
