Yesterday we celebrated M.J.'s birthday.  His mom read to us the story, Of Thee I Sing.  Then, we enjoyed eating yummy Fall, leaf-shaped cookies.  Happy Birthday, M.J.!
 FREE CHOICE FUN...

We opened our Listening Station.  Owen and Adrianna enjoy listening to a story with the headphones.
Yesterday, we started work in our "Nursery Rhyme" journals.  So far in this journal, there is a copy of "Mary Had A Little Lamb".  On the next page of the journal, children used their imaginations and drew a picture of Mary's lamb and what it would be doing if it came to our school!

Sasha and Cooper work on a magnetic mosaic picture at Games Galore.

Seth and Theo work to complete the castle!
Kaitlin and Jack L. making magnetic discoveries with the horseshoe magnets.
Anna works on nursery rhyme puzzles at the Alphabet Station.

Yesterday we introduced the nursery rhyme, "Jack and Jill".  Then, with a partner, children acted out the nursery rhyme.  Broadway, here we come!!

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.

Jack fell down and broke his crown.
 Don't our teeth look TERRIFIC?!

9-23-11 FANTASTIC FRIDAY!

BUDDIES~

Today we visited our second grade buddies and they read stories to us.

FALL HAS ARRIVED!
We changed "Friendly Frog's clothes.  He is now wearing his wardrobe for Fall!
 FREE CHOICE~

During Free Choice, children examined 2 jars containing different sizes and amounts of marshmallows.  Children had to decide if they thought jar #1 or jar #2 had the MOST MARSHMALLOWS!  Stay tuned to find out the answer!

This group of children put together our new Nursery Rhyme floor puzzle.

During Free Choice, we decorated our letter "M" with MINI MARSHMALLOWS!
WEEKLY READER~
Today we read our weekly reader about the season of Fall.
We also read a book about Fall and the changes we can observe happening during this season.
 MONSTER STORY~
We read a silly story about a boy and his monster.  We also discussed the fact that monsters are not alive--they just live in stories, books, and movies.
 MARSHMALLOW JARS~
At the end of our morning, we counted the jars of marshmallows.  The first jar had 16 marshmallows.
The second jar had 59 marshmallows.  Even though jar #1 was filled to the top, the marshmallows were bigger so not as many fit inside.  The jar with the smaller marshmallows had more room to fit more marshmallows.

HAPPY ZERO THE HERO DAY, PRE-K!
Today we celebrated our 20th day of school.  Seth and his parents helped us celebrate!  They brought in wooden circles for us to color; gave us a photo of ourselves to glue on the circle; and then put a magnet on the back.  Thank you for a fun project!
