SCIENCE LESSON
In our nursery rhyme this week ("Jack and Jill"), Jack falls and Jill tumbles down the hill.  We decided to do an experiment with acceleration, using boards, blocks, and small rubber balls.  Working with a partner, children started out putting one block under a board to make a ramp.  One child rolled the rubber ball down the ramp.  Using a sticker, his/her partner marked the spot where the ball stopped.  Children continued doing this, adding 1 block under the board each time, until there were a total of 4 blocks under the board.  Children discovered that the ball's speed increased and the ball went farther, each time a block was added under the block.
