Today we met our school librarian, Mrs. Mullin. She read us a story called, "Library Lion". Then, we made our own lions. Next Friday we will go to the Lower School Library for stories in a special story room and we will check out a book to bring home!

FRIENDLY FROG
Today we introduced "Friendly Frog" to the class. Each day a child's name is chosen from the "Friendly Frog" box. That child's name goes on the Friendly Frog and he/she is the Friendly Frog for the day. The Friendly Frog is the special helper for the day. He/she plays the clean-up song after Free Choice time; leads the line when the class leaves the classroom; and is assigned other special jobs by the teacher. Our first Friendly Frog was Seth! Tomorrow, Seth will choose a name from the box to be the new Friendly Frog!

MORNING MEETING
We start each day with a "morning meeting". Our meeting ends with reading the morning message. First, the teacher reads the message. Then, the children read the message with the teacher. After reading the message today, Mrs. "B" had the children count the number of words in our morning message.

FROG CARDS
Mrs. "B" shows us what we need to do with our "frog on a log" cards when we arrive at the classroom each morning. Each child has a card with his/her first name on both sides. When the child arrives at school, the card is on the "log" side. He/she finds his/her name and then turns the card over to the side where there is a frog on a log, indicating he/she has arrived at school!
