SPANISH CLASS~

In Spanish class on Friday, the children used Oreos to represent the different phases of the moon.  Of course the best part was making the half-moon and the crescent moon!

We enjoyed having some "Quiet Time on our Quilts" today!  We looked at books and listened to music.  One child asked when we could have Quiet Quilt Day again!

During Free Choice, children worked on creating a crayon-resist Space picture.

The first step was to draw/color a Space picture with crayons.  The key is to press really hard with the crayons when drawing/coloring the picture.  When finished, the children painted over their crayon drawing with diluted black paint to make it look more like Outer Space.

 Our Space lesson today included reading a book about day and night.  Through a song (with a familiar tune), children acted out and learned how the Earth rotates; the Earth travels around the sun; and the Moon travels around the Earth.

QUIET QUILT DAY

A note came home in your child's blue folder today about our Pre-K Quiet Quilt Day.  This Thursday, February 9th, please have your child bring a quilt ( a baby quilt, small blanket, etc. is fine) to share for his/her Sound Box item.  We will spend some quiet time on our quilts during our morning.
