PEACE~
To prepare for our upcoming holiday program on "Peace", we brainstormed ideas about what peace means and then read, The Peace Book.
Here were some ideas from your children about the meaning of peace.
PEACE means...

...being friends.
...to stop fighting.
...quiet, no noises.
...to be nice to others.
...to be safe.
...to be friends after a fight.
...to say you're sorry.
...peace and quiet.
...to use the peace rose when you're sad.  It helps us to talk to others.
...when we live on the Earth, we need to be nice to each other.

COLOR DAY!

We enjoyed a colorful day in Pre-K "A"!  First, we tie-dyed t-shirts in the Art room.  Thank you to Mr. Cicetti and all the parents who assisted us with this colorful project! For snack, we ate rainbow cupcakes and could frost them with colored whipped cream.  The milk and water we could drink was also different colors.  We also watched watched our primary-colored ice cubes melt and mix into secondary colors.  The photos below will show you it was a very colorful day!

RAINBOW CUPCAKES~

Today we made rainbow cupcakes to eat for snack tomorrow on Color Day!  We divided the children into 6 groups to help make the cupcake batter into the 6 different colors of the rainbow.  The children are eager and excited to eat the rainbow cupcakes tomorrow!

THE DOT~
The Dot is a great story about a child who feels she can't draw and how her Art teacher inspires and encourages her.
FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Christina is a letter detective!  She is searching our classroom for each letter of the alphabet.

Seth puts together a jigsaw dinosaur puzzle.
Sasha and Alek search the sand in the sensory tub for numbers.

Sophie, Christina, and Alek reading a book together in the Book Nook.

ICE CUBE EXPERIMENT~
Today we made colored water to make colored ice cubes that we will use tomorrow for a color science experiment.  Stay tuned!

11-29-11

Check out the new display area outside of our classroom.  Each child has his/her own "pad" (space) in which to choose work that he/she would like to display for everyone to see.   Some children started putting up things today on their "pad".

 Dog's Colorful Day~
During Free Choice time today, children chose to retell the story of the story, Dog's Colorful Day, which we read yesterday.  It's especially fun to use the props when retelling the story!

Gavin and Seth work to put together a dinosaur jigsaw puzzle.
